Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, nevertheless, called the deal "Amnesty, a pardon and reward for lawbreakers."
"Many senators claim that their deal renews respect for the rule of law," King said. "Let me respond to that absurd statement by stating clearly, you cannot simultaneously tear down and rebuild one of our constitutional principles. I took an oath to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law. The price for amnesty is the sacrifice of the rule of law."
King, ranking Republican on the Immigration Subcommittee of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee, said each of the senators who struck the deal "should wear a scarlet letter 'A' for amnesty."

The proposed legislation, which the Senate will begin debating Monday, is already coming under fire from some lawmakers and interest groups on both sides of the emotional issue. Nonetheless, it represents a breakthrough in President Bush's quest to enact a key piece of his domestic legacy.
Bush made an appearance before reporters to hail the agreement, saying it would offer illegal immigrants a chance to come out of the shadows "without amnesty, but without animosity." He called for its quick passage.

National Right to Life and the Republican Party are wrong. The composition of the US supreme Court is not what has to change to end abortion. If the Christians of America would simply read Article III., Section 2. of their own national covenant, the US Constitution, perhaps they would understand that Congress and the President have had the power to end abortion in America in a week's time, for now almost 34 years !
