Second District race repeats ’04 matchup

By WAYNE WASHINGTON
wwashington@thestate.com

It’s back to the future in the 2nd District, where Republican incumbent Joe Wilson of Springdale faces the same two opponents he defeated in 2004.

Democrat Michael Ray Ellisor of Lexington and anti-abortion activist Steve Lefemine of Cayce, a write-in independent, are taking another crack at Wilson.

Two years ago, Wilson got nearly twice as many votes as the other two combined. But as in baseball’s spring training, hope springs eternal in the months before a congressional election.

“Since that race in 2004, I have been busy getting my position known across the 2nd Congressional District,” Ellisor writes on his Web site. “I firmly believe the district and nation now share my Democratic views.”

If the district shares Democratic views, that would be a shift from 2004, when George W. Bush trounced John Kerry with 60 percent of the vote. Bush got 58 percent of the district’s vote against Al Gore four years earlier.

Wilson, who has rolled up bigger majorities in his runs, has allied himself closely with President Bush’s policies, particularly on Iraq, where Wilson’s son has served in the military.

Ellisor opposes Bush and Wilson’s approach to Iraq, arguing for an immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops.

Ellisor’s signs can be seen in the district, which stretches from northern Richland County to Beaufort County. But he hasn’t gotten the kind of national exposure Lefemine has received.

Lefemine, a West Point graduate, has been quoted in the Washington Post saying Hurricane Katrina tore through New Orleans as punishment for abortions performed in that city.

Lefemine’s answering machine paraphrases founding father George Mason, who warned America in 1787 that “Providence punishes national sins with national calamity.”

[Note from Steve Lefemine: according to America's God and Country, Encyclopedia Of Quotations, by William J. Federer, the correct quote is "...Providence punishes national sins, by national calamities."]

Then Lefemine’s machine adds: “Abortion is a national sin. Nine-11 was a national calamity. Divine judgment is coming upon America unless we repent of the national sin of abortion.”

The actual, full, recorded message on the voice mail message (803-765-0916) referred to above is:

"George Mason, father of the Bill of Rights with Patrick Henry, said, 'Providence punishes national sins by national calamities.' Abortion is a national sin. 9-11 was a national calamity. Greater divine judgment is coming upon America unless we repent of the national sin of abortion."

Based upon history and Scripture, the Word of God (the Bible), that is exactly right. Read about the destruction of ancient Judah, in part for the shedding of innocent blood, in 2 Kings 24:1-4.

The full quote from George Mason, August 22, 1787, during the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia is: "Every master of slaves is born a petty tyrant. They bring the judgment of heaven upon a country. As nations cannot be rewarded or punished in the next world, they must be in this. By an inevitable chain of causes and effects, Providence punishes national sins, by national calamities."

Yes, founding father George Mason (who refused to sign the Constitution because it lacked a Bill of Rights at the time), was talking about the national sin of American chattel slavery !!!

And did this nation not pay dearly from 1861-1865 for this great national sin of manstealing and abuse ?

To this date, the War Between Americans has been our costliest: over 600,000 Americans died, surpassing even the losses of WWII in the 20th century. Abraham Lincoln, for all his faults, near the end of his life, revealed his understanding that the War Between Americans was a divine judgment, upon BOTH North and South, for the national sin of American chattel slavery !

[Go to: www.bartleby.com/124/pres32.html - do a search for the phrase "this terrible war"]

The Bible says, "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God."
(Psalm 9:17, KJB) [emphasis added, note all, NOT just Israel !]

The Bible says, "For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee [God] shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted [destroyed].
(Isaiah 60:12, KJB)

Have you ever wondered why no kingdom/nation/empire in history has ever survived ? Not the Babylonian Empire, not the Egyptian kingdom of the Pharoahs, not Alexander the Great's Empire, nor the Roman Empire ? It is because these nations would not serve the One True God, the God revealed now in the Bible. Neither will the wanna-be American Empire survive if we do not serve Him, and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. "Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way,..."
(Psalm 2:12a, KJB). We should repent, restore our constitutional republic, and forsake "empire."

Baby-killing and sodomy are NOT constitutuional rights. Our founders would be appalled and disgusted, moved to anguish, anger, and tears if they were to see what a moral cesspool America has become. No wonder the [lost] Muslims call us the "Great Satan" - we are wicked and immoral. Did Washington and the Continental Army endure the suffering of Valley Forge so women in 2006 could kill their own offspring, and men could commit abominable acts of sodomy upon one another ? I don't think so. America, what have we become ?

On the other hand, if America will repent (especially the Christians), of our manifold sins of omission and commission, related to abortion, sodomy, adultery, fornication, idolatry, covetousness, etc., etc., then America will be blessed. As the Bible-believing, born-again church goes, so goes the nation.

We have God's promise:
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD: and the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance." (Psalm 33:12, KJB)

So here's the choices before America: Jesus or Tyranny, or as others have said, the Bible or the Bayonet, Christ (Messiah) or Chaos. Which will it be America ?

Which will it be Christians ? Are you going to continue to support your favorite dominant party candidate, be it the Republicans for white "Religious Right" voters, or Democrats for black voters ? Republicans or Democrats, it doesn't matter, they are two sides of the same blood-stained coin. Both dominant parties are controlled by the same one-worlder Establishment Elites (CFR, Trilateralists, Skull and Bones, et al.) taking America down the road of global socialism to the New World Order. The result will be tyranny and the abrogation of our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and with it, the end of the constitutional protections for our God-given, unalienable rights of free speech, peaceable assembly, freedom of religion, the press, etc., etc., etc. The process of the erosion of these liberties has already begun.

Which will it be America ? Which will it be Christians ? It's either Jesus or Tyranny.

Quote attributed to PATRICK HENRY:
[American Revolutionary leader, member of Continental Congress]

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians, not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”
